RE: Linking up
I guess that the difference is that at least we are talking about just one sport rather than soccer and baseball or whatever.
Anyway, the jury is out. |

In his intreview with SPIN, Dave Brooks, Sussex's head honcho, made a very good point that is often forgotten in all this stuff: "The IPL: its a purely commercial operation and we're not, so we have to ask how appropriate it would be for us to work together". It does seem fotgotten in all this and the talk about city based cricket/franchises that county cricket clubs dont exist just to make money; in fact making profits - as ong as they make enough to survive -is a relatively low man on the totem pole. As more and more "businessmen" get involved and spend more and more on grandiose schemes, while running up more and more debt, they all need to remember this. If Warwickshire COUNTY CRICKET CLUB end up making huge amounts from tests to pay off the debt for building a test class venue, while hosting franchise cricket between IPL exhibition games, while the disenfranchsied membership watch maybe a dozen Cc ganes either in a morgue (edgbaston) or at an out ground, what was the point of it all? RE: Linking up
Sadly for some people money is the only thing that matters.
I don't think that is a healthy way of looking at things. It' Nord alto torvo di s. spiega con la maggior parte yorkshiremen sono bastardi miseri |

RE: Linking up
Apparently Durham have sold 90% of their club to Indian Tycoons.
